Sports Acupuncture
Sports medicine acupuncture is used mainly for chronic or acute physical pain. This acupuncture style primarily targets trigger points and motor points within the muscles and tendons to be used as release mechanisms to move pain or trauma lodged in these areas. This ancient style of medicine has been popularly coined “dry needling” by physical therapists but has been practiced for thousands of years before the term was reinvented by modern day PTs. In conjunction with using these muscular and tendon release techniques, I incorporate other Japanese medicine techniques centered on treating the root of the diseased condition. These two techniques together are incredibly effective at allowing the body and mind to reach a state of relaxation and inner harmony to jump start the process of self-healing.

Japanese-Style Acupunture
Japanese-style acupuncture is a gentle, subtle, and powerful way of understanding how humanity is connected to our surrounding environment. Japanese medicine principles teach us the importance of the cycle between these multifaceted relationships and how these connections are nourished. This form of medicine involves an in-depth pulse diagnosis used to analyze the body's various physiological systems, subtle acupuncture needling techniques, and a style of Japanese meridian massage. This creates a broad opportunity to treat different types of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual issues.

Holistic Kinesiology
Holistic kinesiology is an excellent tool to support any acupuncture treatment. Touch for Health is an in-depth system of holistic kinesiology using body postural and biofeedback techniques through the musculoskeletal system as a diagnostic tool. This theory takes a close look at the functionality of specific muscles as they correspond to certain Chinese meridians, meaning testing the overall strength of each muscle gives the practitioner additional insight into our body's mental and physiological system from a Chinese medicine perspective.

Bio Energetic Synchronization Technique (BEST)
BEST is a gentle, non invasive, subtle form of touch used along the spine, known as acupressure. This technique is excellent for people who do not like needles. Often our bodies are in a state of fight or flight from the sympathetic nervous system being in overdrive. This can be caused by a multitude of factors, such as emotional turmoil, physical trauma, stress, and/or anxiety due to our fast paced lifestyles. What the body needs to heal during this time are rest and relaxation, but it is difficult for the body to switch over to this state of being. So, BEST is designed to gently remind the parasympathetic nervous system which drives the body's ability to rest and relax and therefore heal. Once the body has entered this deep state of rest and relaxation then it is in its natural healing state.
